how to choose a strap on

A great strap-on dildo harness is one that fits right, feels good, and looks good. Strap-on harnesses come in a wide range of materials and styles, and choosing the right one can be a bit tricky. Here are some of the main differences between strap-ons:

There are three things to consider when choosing a strap-on:

  • Waist or Thigh Strap-ons
  • Jock Style or G-String Strap On Design
  • Strap-on Materials
  • Removable O Ring
  • Sizing

where do you want to strap-on your strap-on?

Most of our strap-ons are worn around the waist. Some other strap-ons, like the Neoprene Thigh Harness and The Fix, go around other parts of the body. The thigh harnesses can be great fun, and are good for people with lower back pain, or pain in their hips. Regular waist harnesses have the added bonus of an aspect of role play as you can literally step into a different body (or at least a different body part!)

one strap or two?

  • Jock style harnesses (like our bestselling Leather Jock, SpareParts Jock or Jaguar Harness) have two straps that go around the butt cheeks and are each adjustable. Jock style harnesses tend to give the user more control and feel more secure.
  • The g-string design (like our Aslan Jaguar G) has one strap that runs between the legs and the butt cheeks. The g-string allows the wearer to feel the weight and movement of the dildo more.
  • There are also versatile harnesses (like the Pleasure Harness) that can be jock style or g-string style designs.
  • Another design consideration is looking for a harness that will accommodate dildos with testicles (balls). Harnesses with floating O-rings, like the Commando Harness, tend to be better with for dildos with balls.

strap-on materials

  • Most of our strap-ons are made of leather. These are by far the most durable strap-ons available. With proper care your leather harness will last many years.
  • Vinyl strap-ons (like the Aslan Black Cat and the Princess) are great for their shiny look, and the ease with which you can clean them.
  • Our Rubber Jock harness is also easy to clean, and feels very different on as it doesn't "breathe" the way leather and natural fabric does.
  • Finally we carry some nylon harnesses. Both our Pleasure Harness and our Velvet Harness are low cost, light-weight, and still afford a fair bit of control and comfort. For people just starting to explore harness play and those on a budget, nylon can be a great way to start.

removable o-ring

Some strap-ons have a permanent hole that a dildo will slide through and stay in place because of the design of the harness. Other use removable and interchangeable "o" rings. The benefit of a removable ring is that you can change it out for very large or very small dildos. While our strap-ons with permanent holes will accommodate most dildos, if you know you like dildos that are either very big or very small, you may want to check out our more adjustable harnesses, like the Jaguar Luxe and the Commando.

sizing

Most of our strap-ons are available in medium and large sizes. Check out the individual descriptions for more detailed measurements, and if you have any questions be sure to contact us before placing your order.
