Fall is a season that we naturally associate with change.  The leaves turn colour, the birds fly south and the nights get colder.  Many of us spend more time inside our homes, rediscovering our blankets and preparing for the long winter ahead.

As the warm weather fades we can sometimes forget that Fall is also a time of auspicious beginnings.  A wonderful time to take on new projects and to slow down and reflect on the year so far.  The summer's heat and frantic pace calm down allowing for our heightened appreciation of a cool and quiet day.
It is easy to see why we associate Fall with reflection and learning.  Students return to class. There they must remember what they have done before as well as prepare their minds to receive new information.  

We here at Come As You Are see no reason why this joyous rebirth should be confined to students alone.
We have, for the purpose of promoting scholarship scheduled an exciting line-up of Fall workshops. Check out the list and sign yourself up for some interesting Adult education.  Also in this newsletter are descriptions of some great new books and videos.

News

You still like us, you still really like us!  For the third year in a row Torontonians have done us the honour of voting Come As You Are the best sex store in town in the yearly NOW Reader’s Poll.  Once again we’re humbled by your praise and we’re still convinced that the contest is fixed.

It’s back!  After a first year of non-stop shopping for everything from sex toys to pots & pans to hot tubs, the Everything To Do With Sex Show is back offering more opportunities to spend your money, oogle porn stars, and get your tarot cards read.

Videos

A staff and customer favorite, is the no-nonsense, straight to the sex video. The type where the camera is a character and sometimes people forget they are porn stars and just have fun. 
Pornological #2 is fast becoming our most popular gonzo series. Shane brings us rock stars, surfer dudes, and a few familiar faces writhing hot and heavy for the camera.

Well, we can’t help mentioning how great porn DVD’s are. Now that the technology has become commonplace the demand for quality porn on DVD has greatly increased. And, to match the demand our section is growing by leaps and bounds. We have specifically increased our classic, gay, and hardcore sections of DVD’s.  Here are some favorites as well as some well-known oldies. The past several months have seen some great new development in sex literature and erotica. As more people write about sex, the greater the diversity of perspectives. Here are some new books that challenge and educate. 
Good Girls Do is a Canadian author’s take on sexuality in the 21st century. Eye opening and comical. A great read. 
Vagina Monologues is a variety of perspectives celebrating female sexuality and the vagina. Compiled from the much lauded stage tour by Eve Ensler.
Best Bisexual Erotica is another great anthology from editors Bill Brent and Carol Queen and believe it or not, the first collection of its kind. 
How I Adore You is a new collection of stories by Pritchard, that graphically explores sexual taboos and cultural mores. Explicitly complex for the avid erotica reader.
Zaftig is a fabulous collection of smart, explicit stories about and by big sexy men and women. 
On the educational side, Turning Pro is an amazing guide for sex workers and those who are curious. Helpful tips about how to stay safe and succeed. A guide that is full of honest advice for the many amongst us that work the red lights (and don’t forget if you are a sex trade worker, Come As You Are offers a professional discount upon request).
Family Jewels is the long-awaited educational guide devoted to male genital play. An excellent resource for anyone interested in power play, but also great information if you’re just looking to spice up your sex life.
