Collection: Indie Sex Toys on Sale

What a time we live in right now.

At the end of March, we always have our annual March Mayhem sale, and this year, we're not even sure how to talk about all the complexity that’s unfolding that feels so deeply relevant to our work, let alone throw a sale. Do we dig into the power of touch and connection, and analyze how impactful it can be when we don’t have access to our communities of care and communities of pleasure? Or, do we dig into the role pleasure can play as a care strategy and healing practice during these deeply traumatic times?

Do we talk about the bodies that are disproportionately affected by this unfolding, and the ways in which we do not have appropriate support systems in place to ensure the survival of these powerful and beautiful bodies? It is truly devastating to witness the ways in which harm is not equitable: there are certain bodies that disproportionately bear the burden of our stratified system, who are often the least resourced to do so.

Is it best to dig into the uncomfortable truths of our how far we'll go for unlimited cheap goods produced within an imbalanced system as we witness the ways in which this disease was disregarded & suppressed when in its early stages? We’re teetering on the brink of a massive economic reorganization in part because we didn’t invest in having our goods produced by a variety of sources in a variety of locations. Is this what happens when we don't advocate for human rights from the countries we’re in relationship with? Do we now start to try and do the math of what the actual costs of living are within this system?

Do we take this truth: the truth of hungering for too much, too fast, not wanting to pay the true cost for our decisions up-front, and overlay this onto our relationship with ourselves? Do we look at what the effect of not establishing boundaries with those around us has been? Do we look at the tiny moments where warning signs are communicated to us by our bodies and minds, and look at the patterns that lead to those warning signs? How about the impact on our own lives when we ignored those warning signs, pushed them away, and the ways in which we may have found ourselves with autoimmune or other health conditions, relationships that are not in service to our authentic truths, living a life that is not in service to our aliveness?

This is the oldest story in the history of our planet: we’re always trying to figure out the most efficient path to get what we want, and we’re always testing out how far we can push ourselves and our planet often with devastating results. This is evolution at work. I don’t think that there’s any benefit to self-flagellate about this (unless that’s your thing), but there is much benefit to looking at how these systems manifest in our bodies, our spending, our work, our families.

I think in moments like these, we have the opportunity to stop and consider the ways in which we’d prefer to evolve. This can be an invitation to get curious about ways to orient our gaze and energy towards care, integrity, community, redistribution of resources, and intentionality in our choices at this time when the speed in which this is unfolding is breakneck fast.

Here at CAYA, we've decided to offer our annual sale only on goods that are made by companies with a commitment to fair wages and the environment. It’s important to us to support indie vendors who work hard to try and do things differently and more equitably. These are the perverts, tradespeople, queers, weirdos, and visionaries across the globe that work hard to create goods that are ethical, pleasurable, and artful.

Maggie's Sex Worker Emergency Support FunWe’ve also opted to commit 10% percent of any profits from this sale to Maggie’s COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Sex Workers, and we'll match that with our own funds. Sex workers are a powerful community of beautiful bodies that are disproportionately affected by this crisis, and we feel that this is an important time to value this community and send care and support.

Further, if you opt to take part in our annual March Mayhem sale (and boy, the term mayhem has never been more appropriate!), we hope we can be a resource to help provide tools that will help you take care of your body, soul, and intellect right now. If you would like to take part, we're offering a 20% discount on our indie gear until the end of this weekend with code EVOLVING

Pleasure is healing, and we’re looking at some hard truths right now that need our caring healing attention.

With deep love, connection, and care,

Come As You Are
