Introduction
Penis rings - also known as cock rings, c-rings, tension rings or constriction rings - work by restricting the flow of blood from the penis, which can result in firmer and longer-lasting erections, and increased sensation for the wearer.
The rings we carry are not medical devices, and despite popular belief, a cock ring will not make the penis bigger. It may however be easier for some people to maintain an erection while wearing a ring – especially when used with a pump!
Penis rings create a feeling of pressure that some people find very pleasurable and that others might find too intense. Many people like penis rings just for the aesthetic. Some find that using a ring increases sensation and leads to heightened orgasms, while some people find the sensation distracting and uncomfortable.
Health & Safety
Never wear a ring for more than 20-30 minutes at a time. Make sure to wait at least one hour between uses. If you’re noticing discomfort, pain, discoloration, or numbing, re- move the ring immediately. Metal, wood, and makeshift penis rings carry greater risk because if they’re incorrectly sized, they can be difficult to remove and cause lasting, irreversible damage.
How to Wear a Ring
The classic way to wear a ring is around the base of an erect penis behind the scrotum. Some rings will even have extra straps that go around the scrotum separately. This style of ring can provide the effect of delaying ejaculation. When wearing a ring like this, it’s often easier to insert one testicle in at a time and then tuck the shaft of the penis through.
Feel free to experiment with different ways of wearing your ring, making sure that you aren’t pinching or cutting any skin. If you experience pain, take the ring off immediately.
Even if you’re planning on using a ring with a partner, we recommend trying it out first on your own. This gives you the chance to figure out how it works, how to put it on and take it off, and how to make sure that it fits right and feels good. We recommend putting the ring on and masturbating to orgasm to see what it feels like in action.
How to Choose a Penis Ring
If you’re just starting out in the world of penis rings, we recommend beginning with something soft and stretchy while you’re learning about how your body responds. Avoid solid metal and wood rings if you’re just starting out.
Ring Materials
Penis rings come in a wide variety of materials! Silicone and elastomer rings have a wide variety of softness/stretchiness based on the formulation of silicone being used. Wood and metal rings require proper measuring and sizing. These types of rings are less one-size-fits-all and may even be custom sized to the individual wearer.
Ring Style
Most rings are a solid, continuous piece of material that is stretchy enough to pull wide and put on. Round rings can come with either velcro or snap-closures for easy wear and removal. Lasso style rings have a piece that moves up and down (like a bolo tie), offering the most adjustability and ease of removal.
Ball stretchers/separators have multiple openings on the same ring to separate the shaft from the scrotum. Penis rings like V-style or T-style C&B rings separate each testicle from each other and the shaft.
Vibrating Rings
Vibrating penis rings or just vibrating rings are highly versatile toys we recommend for a variety of uses. The basic vibrating ring can be placed at the base of the penis or a dildo and be used to provide extra stimulation during penetration.
Vibrating rings differ in shape and size, and in the kind of vibrator they contain. Vibrating rings that are larger tend to be better for providing clitoral stimulation as they have larger surface area to provide a secondary stimulation through friction.
If you want to use your vibrating ring to add clitoral stimulation to penetration, just put it at the base of the penis or dildo facing up. Wearing a vibrating cock ring just below the glans can stimulate the frenulum. Vibrating rings are also pleasurable when worn with the vibrator against the balls to stimulate the scrotum.
Finally, some people use vibrating rings with their hands. They can easily wrap around fingers and make it easier to hold on to!
