Heya Sex Nerds -
I am overly attached to a a particular vibrating dildo. It ain't the prettiest dick on the shelf, it isn't made of the NASA-tested non-porous silicone, and it surely doesn't have the highest quality motor, but heck, I couldn't live without it if I tried. The problem is it has a very short life span and it is battery-operated (not rechargeable) so it isn't covered under warranty or anything. Honestly, I don't mind replacing my "cheap thrill" every so often, but I hate thinking about the environmental toll my love-it-and-leave it vibe is causing every time I throw it out!
I was wondering if you could assist me in finding something similar that may last a bit longer. I'm looking for a vibrating dildo that is soft and thick enough to be penetrative, but I really also need it to vibrate. I really don’t want it to have any clitoral attachments on it as I use my Lelo Sona and it needs to have something to grab onto. Most vibrators I've seen are hard and straight, with nothing to hold onto. I have been running in circles to try to find something similar, but perhaps rechargeable or even electric. I was suggested to message you guys to see if you could help.

Dearest Unlucky!
Oh, how we so sympathize with your plight! We too have longed for the perfect vibrating dildo and until pretty recently, our searches have so often ended unfruitfully!
The sad reality is that it is relatively easy to manufacture and great vibrator and ever easier to make a great dildo, but clearly, making an amazing vibrator that is also a dildo has long eluded the sex toy industry.
The genre of vibrating dildos is woefully lacking in high quality options - it sounds like your "cheap thrill" is amazing, but, yeah, those battery-operated motors aren't great for lasting for a long time.
Fortunately, the fine folks at Fun Factory have heard your pleas all the way over there in Germany, and they have some very high-quality, rechargeable silicone sex toys that may just fit your bill (or float your boat, as the case may be).
The Fun Factory Big Boss G5 has a remarkably powerful vibrator and features their signature soft, spongey silicone - not so soft that it absorbs all of the vibration, but enough to make it really comfortable to use for penetration play. Even better, it has some great length and a wickedly awesome handle to make it perfect for solo use and for partner play. It comes with all of the bells and whistles folks should expect for a modern-day vibrator - push button controls, travel lock, and multi-mode and speed vibration.
We also recently reviewed and picked up the amazingly cool touch-sensitive vibrating dildo from Cal Exotics. The Cal Exotics Luxe has a nice suction cup that is pretty generous for gripping and it is rechargeable. As such, it is super durable, and it comes with a one year in-house warranty!
Another idea, although a departure from the genre of vibrating dildos, would be something like the Fun Factory Sharevibe. This toy has a removable rechargeable bullet vibe (also with a one year warranty), which is incredibly rumbly and transmits vibrations well throughout the whole toy. The design of this toy is intended to be used for double-dildo play, however, alternatively, the one insertable end of the dildo makes a *fantastic* handle!
You also might consider pairing something like the Magic Wand Original with an attachment such as the Vixen Gee Whiz or Vixen Gee Whizzard. These attachments transmit vibrations really well, and, the Magic Wand is famous (notorious?) for providing amazingly strong vibration along with an exceptionally generous handle!
Good luck in your most earnest endeavours,
CAYA
